South Korea accused North Korea of attacking a South Korean warship Chionan on 26 March2010 killing on board 46 sailors. South Korean accusation is based on an international report, which proved that North Korea indeed had attacked South Korean warship. South Korean President Lee Mayang Buck said that he would take serious actions for this provocative act.
North Korea stated that the report is baseless and any revengeful action by South Korea will result into war between the two nations.
The U.N. general secretary had expressed deep concern over the Chionan warship incident. America accused North Korea of adopting provocative activities and breaking international laws.
