MPs give up subsidy on food at Parliament Canteen to save Rs 15 crore annually

All the Members of Parliament (MPs) unanimously decided to give up the subsidy on the food they used to avail of at the canteen of Parliament. The move is expected to save around Rs 15 crore annually. From now onwards, the MPs will get food at normal rates in the Parliament. The decision came on the recommendation of the Business Advisory Committee.

India was severely affected during the monsoon season, particularly Kerala which saw the worst floods in 2018.
