1. (a) Village Rockstars
Assamese movie “Village Rockstars” has been chosen to represent India in the Best Foreign Language category at the 91st Academy Awards 2019. The film, which is directed by Rima Das, also won the Best Feature film Award at the 65th National Film Awards. The film follows Dhunu, a girl who grows up in poverty and learns to fend for herself. However, that does not prevent her from following her dream of forming a rock band and owning a guitar someday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23, 2018 launched the flagship scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana' (PMJAY), also known as Ayushman Bharat or the National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) at Ranchi, Jharkhand.

Nepal is set to become the first country in the world to double its tiger population as part of the World Wildlife Foundation's (WWF) "Tx2" programme which aims to double the number of tigers all over the world.The Nepal government has announced that there are now an estimated 235 wild tigers in the nation, nearly double the number from around 121 in 2009.

6. (c) Prithvi Defence Vehicle
India has conducted a successful test of its indigenously designed ballistic missile defense system off the coast of Odisha. With the test, India achieved a major milestone in developing a two-layer Ballistic Missile Defence system. The mission, named Prithvi Defence Vehicle (PDV) mission, aimed to engage targets in the exo-atmosphere region at an altitude above 50km of the earth's atmosphere.

Sikkim’s first-ever airport was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24, 2018 at Pakyong. The development is a historic occasion for the entire northeast region of India. The airport is situated around 60 km from the Indo-China border and around 30km away from Sikkim’s capital city, Gangtok.

The inauguration of the Pakyong Airport in Sikkim has taken the total number of airports in the country to hundred. The airport is not only India’s 100th functional airport but also one of the country’s five highest airports. The development not only eases connectivity to the Himalayan state but also brings it on the air-map of the world.

The first International Day of Sign Languages was observed across the world on September 23, 2018 with the theme “With Sign Language, Everyone is Included!” According to the World Federation of the Deaf, there are approximately 72 million deaf people worldwide and more than 80 per cent live in developing countries.

10. (c) Vietnam
Vietnam's incumbent President Tran Dai Quang passed away at the age of 61 on September 21 in a military hospital in Hanoi after a prolonged serious illness. Vietnam’s Vice-President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh will take over as the acting president until a new president is chosen by the communist party's Central Committee.
