The United States new President-Elect Donald Trump appointed Indian- American Raj Shah in a key White House position, as his deputy assistant and Deputy Communications Director and Research Director.
The announcement was made on 5 January 2017 by incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus along with other important appointments.
About Raj Shah
• Shah, who is in his early 30s, is born to Indian parents who immigrated to the United States from Gujarat.
• He is currently serving as the head of Opposition Research in the Republican National Committee.
• He had led a team of experts to research against Hillary Clinton, the Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party.
• In fact, he was behind all the anti-Clinton campaign during the elections.
Besides Shah, other appointments include Katie Walsh as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the White House, Joe Hagin as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Rick Dearborn as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative, Intergovernmental Affairs and Implementation.
Other additional hires include:
Marc Short –Director of Legislative Affairs
Josh Pitcock- Chief of Staff to the Vice President,
John DeStefano- Director of Presidential Personnel
Jessica Ditto- Deputy Communications Director
George Gigicos - Director of Advance
Jen Pavlik - Deputy Chief of Staff to the Vice President
John McEntee - Personal Aide to the president.
According to Priebus, all these individuals will play a key role in the implementation of the President-Elect’s agenda and bring a change in the country.
