Vice President Venkaiah Naidu tests positive for COVID-19

The Vice President of India tested positive while undergoing a routine COVID-19 test today morning. He is however, asymptomatic and in good health.

The Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu tested positive for COVID-19 on September 29, 2020. The official Twitter account of the Vice President confirmed the news through a post.

As per the tweet, the Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning, tested positive. He is, however, asymptomatic and in good health.

He has been advised home quarantine for now. His wife Usha Naidu had also undergone a test and she tested negative and is currently in self-isolation.

M Venkaiah Naidu, who is also the Chairman of Parliament's upper house Rajya Sabha, had recently attended the monsoon session of the Parliament, which was cut short after over 25 Secretariat officials tested positive for COVID-19. 

Former Union Minister Uma Bharti had also tested positive for COVID-19 on September 26. She is currently admitted to AIIMS Rishikesh.
