The Management Information System (MIS) portal for Anganwadi Services Training Programme was launched by Rakesh Srivastava, Women and Child Development Secretary in New Delhi on January 24, 2018.

The portal has been developed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC) for the submission of applications and estimates by NGOs for carrying out Anganwadi Services (ICDS) Training through Anganwadi Workers Training Centres (AWTC) and Middle-Level Training Centres (MLTC).

Key Highlights

The first phase of the portal will enable NGOs to submit proposals to the respective states and Union Territories.

The states and UTs, in turn, will process the proposals and recommend the requirement of funds for running the programme.

The Central government would further examine the proposal and release the funds. It will ensure that the funds are released timely and reach the beneficiaries for training purpose.

About Anganwadi Services Training Programme

The programme, which comes under the Umbrella Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, is a centrally sponsored scheme.

The overall administration, management and monitoring of the implementation of the scheme is being done by the respective state governments and UT administrations.

The training provided to the Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) and the Supervisors at AWTCs and MLTCs is a part of the Anganwadi Services.

The AWTCs and MLTCs are run either by the respective state governments or UT administrations or by NGOs under the supervision of the states and UTs.

The Union Government releases the funds required for the implementation of the scheme to the state and UT administrations.

In September 2017, the Union Ministry finalised the Comprehensive Training Guidelines for AWTCs and MLTCs and e-Learning Manual for smooth functioning and operation of the training centres.
