Nayab Singh Saini took oath as Chief Minister of Haryana in Panchkula. This is his second term. The swearing-in ceremony took place on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states were present.

2. (d) Rashmika Mandanna

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has recently been named the national brand ambassador of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Let us tell you that Rashmika also became a victim of a deepfake video last year. This will help in increasing awareness about cybersecurity including deepfakes, cyberbullying and financial fraud.

The Indian Defence Ministry has recently signed a $3.5 billion deal with the USA for 31 MQ-9B drones (16 Sky Guardian and 15 Sea Guardian) to enhance defence capabilities. The deal includes 15 drones for the Indian Navy and eight each for the Army and Air Force.

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh unveiled India's first airport-based self-operated indoor air quality monitoring facility Pavana Chitra at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. This off-grid air quality monitor is powered by indigenous indoor solar cell developed by CSIR-NIIST.

Indian shooter Vivaan Kapoor won the silver medal in trap shooting at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Final. Vivaan finished second in the final with 44 points. Meanwhile, China's Qi Ying won the gold medal with 47 points.

FIDE Master Gurpreet Pal Singh of India won the gold medal at the ACO World Chess Championship in Crete, Greece. Gurpreet is known for training players like Grandmaster and former Under-10 world champion Sahaj Grover.

9. (a) Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand Madrasa Board has recently planned to make Sanskrit a compulsory subject in 416 madrasas across the state. The board is preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state's Sanskrit department. Let us tell you that at present, Arabic is taught in more than 100 madrasas.

Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud has recommended the name of Justice Sanjiv Khanna as the 51st Chief Justice of India. Let us tell you that Justice Chandrachud is retiring on November 10, 2024. Justice Khanna is going to retire on May 13, 2025.
