As per the census 2011, out of the entire population of the state, Bihar 11.29% people reside in urban areas. 11,758,016 people out of the total population live in urban area in which the number of males is 6,204,307 and females are 5,553,709.
In last 10years, the urban population has incremented by 11.29 percent. In Urban areas, the sex ratio was 895 females per 1000 males. For children in the age between 0 to 6 years, the data revealed at 912 girls per 1000 boys.
The total number of children between 0-6 years living in urban areas was 1,750,263. 14.89 % were children (0-6) of the total population in urban areas. For urban areas in Uttar Pradesh, the average Literacy rate was 76.86 %. The males were 82.56% literate and females at 70.49%. In Bihar, total literates in urban region were 7,692,401.
