Voting for the first phase of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 is complete. Voters unable to produce an Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) can produce any of the 12 listed documents for identification at polling booths on Friday, Erode District Election Officer and Collector Raja Gopal Sunkara has said.
The first phase out of all seven phases of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 has rolled out successfully. Voter ID is a crucial and essential document to participate in the democratic process of electing a leader. But what if you don’t have a voter ID card?
The lack of a voter ID card does not prevent someone from casting a ballot, even though the Electoral Commission requires voter identification at polling places. As per the guidelines released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), anyone whose name appears on the official voter list is eligible to vote.
