India is actively seeking to increase its exports to other developing countries, which is a crucial part of its developing trading policy. In actuality, India is making bilateral and regional trading agreements for different areas. Israel has gathered eight rounds of dialogue on economic relations, putting it in a pivotal position as a significant partner. India's trade with Israel has had its heyday in recent years, rocketing from $0.785 billion in 2001 to $5.002 billion in 2015. In the past, similar activities were also done by G20 in 2007 and 2011.
Israel’s rich religious heritage and strong economic strengths make Israel a difficult nut to crack for all of its Arab neighbours. The Western Wall, the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque are famous religious sites in Israel, and its culture and historical significance naturally draw upon this. Moreover, several Israeli brands have been called "Best in Their Field" along with International Awards: McDonald's, Strauss, Keter, Tivall, Osem, Eden Spring and SodaStream all enjoy strong international reputations.
India-Israel Economic and Commercial Relations
According to the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Israel in 1992, bilateral trade and economic ties have seen significant growth. In 1992, trade between the two nations amounted to just US$ 200 million, primarily centred around diamonds. However, by FY 2022-23, trade diversified substantially, reaching a peak of US$ 10.77 billion (excluding defence). During this period, Indian merchandise exports to Israel stood at US$ 8.45 billion, while Israeli exports to India were valued at US$ 2.32 billion.
In FY 2023-24, bilateral trade declined to US$ 6.53 billion (excluding defence), mainly due to disruptions caused by regional security issues and affected trade routes.

List of Israeli Products Brands Banned in India
Currently, there are no official government bans on Israeli products in India. Trade relations between Israel and India are generally strong, with the two countries collaborating in areas such as defence, agriculture, technology, and water management. However, some civil society organizations and groups in India, particularly those aligned with pro-Palestinian movements, have occasionally called for boycotts of Israeli goods as part of the global Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
These boycotts are not state-imposed and typically come from advocacy groups that oppose Israel's policies towards Palestine. The Indian government has not endorsed these boycotts and continues to maintain healthy diplomatic and economic ties with Israel. Therefore, no Israeli products are officially banned in India, but there may be selective efforts by certain groups to avoid or boycott them.
