Jal Jeevan Mission

Provides piped water supply to every rural household.

• Initiative: Launched in 2019, it is a program that aims at achieving functional household tap connections to all rural houses by 2024. According to January 2025 reports, more than 10 crores of rural households have access to tap water.
• State Response: States like Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh have set the bar by providing water both in terms of accessibility and quality to the masses.

PM Awas Yojana (PMAY)

• Focus area: Affordable Housing for the urban poor.
• Details: Launched in 2015, PMAY aims to construct over 1 crore houses by 2022. The target has been extended to include additional housing units by 2024.
