West Bengal: Population as per Census 2011
The population of West Bengal was 9.13 Crores as per Census 2011. As per the information, there is an increase from the figure of 8.02 Crore in census 2001. The total population of the state was 91,276,115 per the Census 2011.
Out of which 46,809,027 were males and 44,467,088 were females. However in the year 2001, the total population of the state was 80,176,197 out of which the number of males was 41,465,985 and the number of females was 38,710,212.
The growth in the decade in the total population was 13.84 % however in the previous decade the population growth was 17.84%. West Bengal’s population forms 7.54 % of India in the year 2011 however it formed 7.79 % in 2001.
