CBSE Board 2025: Exams To Be Held Twice-a-year
CBSE will be conducting board exams for class 10 and class 12 students twice a year from 2025 as per recent reports. The first term is to be held in November-December and the second term in February-March. Check details here.
As per recent reports, students beginning their class 10 and 12 education from the 2024-25 academic year will be the first batch on the central board to get an opportunity to appear for multiple board exams. According to reports, the Central Board of Secondary Education will be conducting the first-ever multiple board exams in 2025. The information regarding the same was provided by senior officials at the Ministry of Education.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in an interview conducted in 2023 mentioned that the exam format of twice a year exam will begin from 2024-25 which means the format will be adopted in the 2025 board exams for the class 10 and 12 students.
As per officials, the new system of conducting exams twice a year for the class 10 and 12 students will not be mandatory. The multiple board exam system is being introduced to reduce stress on students who fear missing a single opportunity. In case a candidate is prepared and satisfied with the score in one of the exam sets, they can choose not to appear for the second exam.
On the 2023 CBSE board exams approximately 38.2 lakh students appeared for the class 10 and class 12 board exams. According to the Education Ministery officials, the first of the 2025 board exams is expected to be conducted in November-December 2024 while the second exam will be held in February-March 2025. The scores of the best of two exams will be taken into consideration for the final result and merit list.
