CBSE 10th Result Documentation, Re-evaluation and Class 11 Admissions

1.      First and foremost, CBSE will be releasing the final marksheet for all the students of Class 10 board examinations now. These will now be available on DigiLocker and can be downloaded. A printed copy of the marksheet cum passing certificate will also be sent to the respective schools, from where parents and students can collect them. Remember, this is for all students, not just those who appeared in the second board examinations. The marksheet released after the declaration of the main class 10 board examinations was provisional and must be supplemented with the final marksheet, which will be issued now.

2.      While computing the final result, in case a student has appeared in both the board examinations, CBSE will only consider the higher of the two marks scored by the candidate. So, for instance, if a student appeared for the Mathematics examination twice and scored 45 in the first and 43 in the second, CBSE will award 45 marks to the student in the final marksheet.

3.      The board allowed students who appeared for Basic Mathematics in the main examination to opt for Standard Mathematics in the second examination, and vice versa – for all such students also, the criteria for computation of the final result remains the same. CBSE will only consider the higher of the two marks when awarding the certificate.

4.      Once the results are declared, CBSE will begin the verification and re-evaluation process for Class 10 board results 2026. This includes the process of verification and revaluation for both the board examination. Note that the board has not clarified otherwise, and it may be suggested that if a child has appeared for both board examinations, he or she may be allowed to seek revaluation of both. The board is expected to issue clarity for the same once the notice is released for revaluation.

5.      Steps for revaluation for Class 10 results will be three – the first of these would be seeking a verification, then requesting a photocopy, and then the final revaluation of the result in case still not satisfied. The window is expected to open soon after the results are declared for all class 10 students.

6.      Students who appeared for the second board examination under the ‘compartment’ category, if passed, will not have compartment in their final mark sheet at all, nor will the marksheet mention that the student cleared that examination in two attempts.

7.      Students who fail in the compartment subjects even in the second board examinations will have the option of appearing in the Compartment examinations scheduled in July by the board. The schedule for the same will be released by the board.

8.      Class 11 admissions for CBSE schools will officially begin after the declaration of final results.

Parents and students are requested to carefully go through the notices released by the board regarding the declaration of final results. As for when the results will be declared, there is no confirmation on the date as yet. Officially, it is expected that CBSE Class 10 results will be announced on or before June 21. The board, however, given the ongoing chaos following the class 12 board results, may delay the declaration by a few days.

The delay, please note, is only to ensure proper logistical focus on the declaration of Class 12 revaluation results. Parents and students are advised to keep a check on the official website, cbse.gov.in, for the latest updates on the results. Notice, once available, will be provided on this page as well.
