Chhattisgarh Closes Schools, Colleges: As per the latest update, the Chhattisgarh State Government has decided to close down all the schools and colleges based in the state as a counter measure to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the state. The latest order directs all schools, colleges and even anganwadi centres in Chattisgarh to be closed as part of the precautionary measures being implemented by the state government. Along with this, the state government has also decided to promote all students without exams, except those who are in Class 10 and 12, as per media reports.
Decision on Online Exams Later
The decision to close-down all schools and colleges in the state was announced Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey has announced the closure of the schools, colleges and Anganwadi Centers on behalf of the government. Following the announcement, the state government also released an official order on 21st March, which ordered schools and colleges to remain closed until further orders. Following the decision, Chhattisgarh School Education Minister Dr Premasai Singh Tekam said that decision regarding holding exams for students in online mode has not been taken yet. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
CGBSE 10th and 12th Exams 2021 to be held Offline
While schools have been closed and all students promoted without holding exams, the state government has decided to hold the upcoming Chhattisgarh Board Exams 2021 for both Class 10 and 12 students. Putting aside any rumours or speculations, the state government has announced that the CGBSE 10th and 12th Exam 2021 will be held in offline mode as per the schedule released by the Board earlier. The official order read "The board exams of class 10th and 12th will be held offline as per the schedule declared earlier by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) while complying with all coronavirus preventive guidelines issued by the Centre and state government from time to time.”
