Delhi School Closure: As per the latest update, all schools in Delhi will be closed yet again starting from 1st January 2022 for Winter Vacations. The winter vacation for school students of Delhi will continue for 15 days until 15th January 2022. The decision to announce winter vacation for Delhi Schools was announced by the Directorate of Education, Delhi Government in its latest order. The announcement follows the recent reopening of schools starting from 18th December 2021 in line with the Commission for National Air Quality Management direction following easing of air pollution in Delhi.

No Online Classes or Work Sheet Activities
During the period of Delhi Winter Vacations, all students and teachers will be given complete time off with no online classes happening from 1st to 15th January 2022. In addition to this, the DoE has also directed all the schools to not continue any academic activities including those being done via work sheets and other educational tools. As per the notice released, all heads of Sarvodaya Vidayala should inform students about the winter break through their parents. However, looking at the academic loss that students have already suffered due to school closure because of COVID and Air Pollution, schools have been allowed to revise the syllabus of the academic year 2021-22 that has been covered so far.
COVID-19 Positivity and Yellow Alert
Earlier in the week, many media reports had also suggested that the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP Govt in Delhi might close-down school in the national capital looking at the rapidly rising COVID-19 positivity rate. The COVID Positivity rate touched 0.55 on Sunday and it stays above 0.5 for two consecutive days, Yellow Alert would be issued under the Govt’s 4-step Graded response Action Plan (GRAP). As per the latest update, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 1103 cases. Further, the death ratio due to COVID-19 in the national capital is 1.74%.
