DU Admission 2019: Delhi University has asked colleges affiliated to it to conduct forensic examination and analysis of the documents submitted by the students during the admission process. The direction from the varsity comes in the wake of a recent incident related to former DUSU president Ankiv Baisoya who had allegedly submitted fake documents to secure admission in the university.

Forensic Analysis of Documents

In addition to conducting a forensic investigation of the documents, the varsity is also likely to launch a new smart Identity Cards facility for the students from this year onwards. Commenting upon the development, a senior official from the University has been quoted in the press, as saying “"Till now, different colleges had different identity cards and there was no uniformity. From this year, the identity cards will look similar but have the name of the college stamped on it. It was also found some colleges were issuing identity cards after six months of a student getting admission, so it was felt that smart ID cards be introduced."

Marks to be Sources from CBSE

With regards to the forensic analysis of the students’ documents, Delhi University is likely to rope in a list of empaneled agencies to conduct thorough testing and investigation of the documents. Another development as part of this year’s admission process is that the University has tied up with CBSE to gain access to the CBSE 12th Result 2019 of the students. This means that students will only need to enter their examination roll number in the university admission application form and the marks and other details will be filled in automatically as provided by the CBSE.

Sourcing marks for CBSE 12th Exam 2019 will significantly reduce the stress of document verification on the university as 80% of students applying to DU are from CBSE. The University will have to conduct the forensic examination of only the remaining 20% of the students. The University is also planning to take strict action against the individuals found submitting fake documents during the admission process. Delhi University will file a formal FIR in case fake documents are submitted by a student.

For 2019, Delhi University Admission process is expected to commence from 30th May 2019 onwards. The varsity is expected to rope in NTA to conduct the entrance exam for DU Admissions 2019.
