The University of Delhi (DU) has reopened the inter-college migration window for the 2026-27 academic session, giving students additional time to complete the application process. The university announced the decision on October 7 after students raised concerns about difficulties in completing the process within the earlier deadline. Students can now apply for migration till October 9, 2026.
The facility allows eligible DU students to seek migration from one college to another college within the university, subject to the applicable rules and availability of seats.
DU Migration 2026: Who Can Apply?
The inter-college migration facility is available to students studying in the third semester. Students seeking migration must also meet the conditions prescribed by the university.
One of the key requirements is the availability of a seat in the relevant course at the college where the student wants to migrate. DU's migration rules provide for inter-college migration in the third semester, subject to the required conditions and the consent of the concerned colleges.
DU Inter-College Migration 2026-27: Last Date
With the migration window reopened, students who have not completed the process earlier can submit their applications by October 9, 2026.
Students should complete the required formalities within the revised deadline. The extension follows requests from students who faced difficulties in completing the process within the earlier application period.
Several DU colleges have also issued fresh notices regarding inter-college migration. For instance, Shivaji College published a notice on October 7, while Daulat Ram College has also listed an inter-college migration notification dated October 7.
What Is Inter-College Migration In DU?
Inter-college migration means changing from one DU college to another while continuing studies at the university, subject to the prescribed rules. It is different from taking admission to DU afresh.
Students planning to apply should carefully check the migration requirements of both the current college and the college they wish to join. They should also confirm whether seats are available in the relevant course before proceeding.
