With a demand from art and drawing class associations to continue with grace marks to students this year in spite of the elementary and intermediate exams not being conducted a notification was issued by the state government to award marks as per the previous exams.
As per the notification issued, extra marks have helped the students secure 100 percent in the Maharashtra SSC examinations. The Kala Adhyapak Sangh Secretary Sunil Borole and other art teachers associations in Maharashtra have been insisting that students be granted extra marks since they have been putting in an effort for more than three years.
He also added that the students have submitted proposals to schools for extra marks since January and many of the students also passed intermediate and elementary exams before. Students are marked annually based on grades which were not possible since the exams were not conducted due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
