Himachal Pradesh School Reopening News: As per the latest update, the Himachal Pradesh State Government has decided to go ahead with the partial reopening of schools in the state from Monday i.e. 21st Sept 2020. In line with the Unlock 4.0 Guidelines, schools in HP would open only for Class 9 to 12 students for doubt solving sessions. The decision to reopen schools on partial basis was taken by the State Cabinet in a review meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of HP CM Jai Ram Thakur. Schools in the state would reopen after nearly 6 months of being closed due the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown that was enforced to curb it.
Cabinet Approval for Reopening of Schools
As reported earlier, the State Cabinet, which met to review the COVID-19 situation in the state decided that schools for Class 9 and above students can be reopened in the state for doubt solving sessions in line with Unlock 4.0 Guidelines. However, the state government will not allow reopening of schools which fall under any major or minor containment zones as marked by the state health department. Furthermore, the state cabinet has also announced that all guidelines, precautionary measures and SOPs prescribed by Union Home Ministry and Health Ministry would be strictly followed as part of the reopening process.
50% Staff to be Allowed in School
In line with the Unlock 4 Guidelines, the state government has announced that only 50% of teaching and non-teaching staff would be allowed to visit school premises to hold doubt solving sessions for the students. Furthermore, students would be allowed to visit schools on voluntary basis. The HP Govt spokesperson also confirmed that a written consent from parents or guardians of students is mandatory to visit school.
