ICSE Exam 2025: The ICSE Class 10 examinations for 2025 began on February 18, with the English Language paper at 11 AM. Since students will be taking important exams for more than a month, it is crucial for them to be familiar with the examination day guidelines set by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). 

These guidelines guarantee a seamless and organized examination procedure, which supports a focused learning environment and equitable evaluations.

Class 10th English Paper Analysis

The ICSE Class 10 English Language (Paper 1) exam 2025 had both easy and moderate sections. Many students found the reading comprehension and grammar parts simple, but some felt the literature section was a bit tough. Overall, most students thought the exam was of average difficulty.

ICSE 2025 Exam Guidelines for Candidates

Candidates must follow these important instructions during the examination:

  • Reporting Time: Arrive in the Examination Hall/Room at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • Leaving the Hall: Candidates cannot leave before the exam ends.
  • Missing Stationery: If any required items (maps, stationery, etc.) are missing, inform the Supervising Examiner immediately.
  • Reading Instructions: Carefully read all general instructions on the first page of the question paper, including the number of questions to attempt.
  • Answering Questions: Attempt only the required number of questions as mentioned in the question paper.
  • Writing Details: Clearly write your Unique ID, Index Number, and Subject on the Main Answer Booklet’s top sheet, continuation booklets, maps, graph papers, etc.
  • Ink Requirement: Write using Black/Blue ink only. Pencils are allowed only for diagrams.
  • Signature: Sign in the space provided on the Main Answer Booklet’s top sheet. Do not write anything else on it.
  • Answer Sheet Format:
    • Write on both sides of the answer booklet unless instructed otherwise.
    • Leave a margin on both sides of the page.
    • Start a new line for each sub-part of a question.
    • Clearly write the question number in the left margin without copying the question.
    • Leave a blank line after each answer.
  • Handwriting & Spelling: Maintain neat handwriting and correct spelling.
  • Allowed Materials: Candidates can bring math instruments, drawing tools, and color pencils for subjects where required. Electronic devices and calculators are NOT allowed.
  • Reading Time: An extra 15 minutes is given before writing starts to read the questions carefully.
  • Time Management: Avoid wasting time writing unnecessary details. Do not spend too much time on just one or two questions.
  • Continuation Booklets: These will be given only after filling up all pages of the current booklet. Attach all used/unused booklets to the Main Answer Booklet.
  • Rough Work: Do all rough work on the same sheet as the rest of the answer.
  • Arranging Answer Sheets: After the exam, arrange answer sheets in order (first page on top) and check that the UID, Index Number, and Subject Paper are correctly written. Fasten the sheets together at the top left corner and submit them unfolded.
