JKBOSE 10th and 12th Result 2020 for Private Candidates: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) has officially released the promotion policy and criteria for promotion of private students / candidates who are from Kashmir Division. For 2020 session, the Board has decided to promote students on the basis of promotion policy or formula due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The Secondary School and Higher Secondary Annual and Bi-Annual exams were to be held in March 2020 but were delayed and eventually cancelled to pandemic.

 

JKBOSE Result 2020: Detailed Passing Criteria

To confirm the development, the JKBOSE issued a formal notification which is available on their official website as well as on their official account on social media platforms. The detailed promotion policy provides the criteria on the basis of which, students who were to appear for Class 10 and Class 12 Board exams as private candidates, will now be promoted to the next grad.

As per the promotion policy, all students who were to appear for Class 10 and Class 12 Exam as private candidates from Kashmir division, and have cleared two or more subjects will be automatically promoted to Class 11 this year. This provision has been provided as a one-time relaxation in the light of the pandemic situation. The notification also reads “Such students declared successful in accordance with the said formula shall be given admission in Class 11 this year in relaxation of the mandatory 66 per cent attendance.”

The marks in the fifth subject would be awarded based on the average of four subjects the candidate has appeared in, while the marks for the fourth subject would be based on the average of three subjects the candidate has appeared in. The same formula shall be applicable to the calculation of the third subject marks in case the candidate passed two subjects.

Candidates who have failed in all the subjects would be placed in reappearing candidates and will be required to appear and clear the exam in the second quarter of September. For Class 12 students, the Board has made a special provision of allowing candidates to appear for the improvement exam in the same division. The improvement exam will be held in the second quarter of Sept 2020.
