MUHS Semester Exam 2020: As per the latest update, Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh has asked the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) to postpone the Semester Exams scheduled for August 2020. The Nashik based varsity has announced that it will hold examinations in the August for its students. The direction to postpone the semester exams of the medical university have been issued following the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the state.
Holding Exams Not in Interest of Students: Deshmukh
In a formal statement issued today, Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh directed the MUHS vice-chancellor Deelip Mhaisekar to postpone the varsity’s semester exams that are scheduled to be held in August 2020. Mr Deshmukh said that holding MUHS Semester Exam 2020 amid on-going pandemic is not in the interest of the students. The minister has asked University to allow first and second year student to start new academic session while their their final year examinations and all other non-certifying tests be deferred until further notice. He also directed the varsity to let final year students start their internships and “their examinations be conducted only after the COVID-19 spread is contained. He also added that as postgraduate students are resident at the university, their examinations can be held as per schedule.
Exams Scheduled to Begin on 4th August
As per the latest notification, MUHS Semester Exams 2020 are scheduled to be held from 4th August 2020 onwards. Earlier, the exams were scheduled to begin from 16th July 2020 but they were postponed for all medical courses considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The University will now conduct the theory and practical examination from 4th August 2020, in the state.
