As per a new circular issued for Mumbai University exams 2021, the first-year exams for M.Com, MA, and M.Sc courses will be conducted until March 30, 2021. The students appearing for the examinations can visit the official website of the university to check the exam notification.
The university had earlier released a circular regarding concluding the examinations before March 10, 2021. The results of Mumbai university Examinations were scheduled to be released on March 15, 2021.
PG classes commenced Mid January 2021
Colleges affiliated with the university began the regular lectures for the first-year postgraduate batches by mid-January 2021. The delay in commencement of regular classes for the students is due to the admission process which ends by December 2020 while the PG courses got delayed due to the lockdown and confusion over reservation quotas.
Conducting exams in six weeks not feasible
Colleges of the university took a stand on the previous circular issued stating that conducting the exams within six weeks will be unfair to the students and according to the University Act, Colleges need to complete 90 teaching days before scheduling the examinations.
At present, the colleges have barely completed 40 days of academic session which is why it was not feasible to conduct Mumbai University Exams 2021 before March 10, 2021. University officials have stated that the Mumbai University Exams 2021 is being postponed to March 30, 2021, and the decision has been taken considering the inability of colleges to conduct exams at such short notice.
The university officials have also stated that students from different courses have barely completed 40 percent of the practical classes and considering the present scenario the decision to postpone Mumbai University Exam 2021 was taken and it is expected that the university exams for M.Com, MA, and M.Sc Courses will take place in both online and offline mode.
