Super 30 founder Anand Kumar to be honoured with the prestigious Mahaveer Award 2019

Super 30 Founder and Mentor Anand Kumar will be honoured with the prestigious Mahaveer Award-2019. Mahaveer Award which is awarded by Bhagwan Mahaveer Foundation, will be bestowed upon Anand Kumar for his significant contributions in the field of education. Anand Kumar who is a world renowned Mathematician, is also the inspiration behind the recent Bollywood Movie titled ‘Super 30’ starring Hrithik Roshan.

Kumar’s response to Award

Anand Kumar has graciously accepted the Mahaveer Award 2019 and has said that received the award is a great honour for him. He said with such awards the responsibility that is given to him to continue to work for the betterment of underprivileged sections of the society has multiplied manifolds. He also thanked the selection committee for considering him worthy for the honour.

In a tweet, which he sent out post the announcement of the Mahaveer Award, he said that the Rs 10 lakh award prize money will be dedicated by him for the betterment of needy children. He also thanked all the people who had stayed by his side and supported him under all circumstances.

Award for his contribution towards education of poor students

As per the statement issued by Sunil Anand Jain of the Mahaveer foundation, Anand Kumar of Super 30 has been selected for the Mahaveer Award for his pioneering initiative to help poor children compete and clear engineering entrance exams. During his student days,  Anand Kumar faced poverty and was unable to join Cambridge University despite being selected for it due to financial constraints. He, through his Super 30 initiative, has taken it upon himself to ensure that students from poor families do not face such challenges and are able to join the premier technology institutes through this coaching.

About Super 30 Initiative

Super 30 intiative was launched by Anand Kumar through which he selects 30 bright engineering aspirants from underprivileged families. These students are inducted into engineering coaching programme and trained by him for the highly competitive engineering entrance exam for IITs i.e. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.
