Allahabad: Putting the minds of nearly 26 lakh students at ease, the UP Board 12th Exam Date Sheet has been officially announced by the UP Board. Today, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) announced the UP Board Scheme 2017 under which the board exam would begin on 16th March.
UP Board Exams begin; 60 lakh students to take up exam today
As per the new UP Board 12th Time Table 2017, the Intermediate Board Exam would begin on 16th of March with Military Science / Hindi (General) paper and continue until 21st April when the final paper of Urdu / Optional will be held. The new UP Board Intermediate Time Table 2017 also states that the board exam for all three streams i.e. arts, commerce and science would be conducted during the same time period.

UP Board Scheme 2017 – Exam Dates Delayed
This year, the UP Board Exam Date 2017 has been delayed almost by a month due to the upcoming assembly elections. Earlier in the month, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad had announced that the exams were scheduled to take place from February 16 and March 20, 2017. But after Election Commission’s direction, the UP Board Exam Date Sheet 2017 was revised to avoid clash with the impending assembly elections.
Keeping this in mind, the UP Board has decided to commence the UP Board Intermediate Exam for class 12 students only after the successful completion of the assembly elections on 11th March. Apart from the UP Assembly Elections, the UPMSP also had to take into account the three-day holiday break for Holi, while coming up with the new UP Board 12th Class Date Sheet 2017.
Disappointment among Students
Although the announcement of UP Board 12th Date Sheet 2017 has come across as a major relief for the students, the majority among them are disappointed with the new UP Board Scheme 2017. The new UP Board Intermediate Time Table 2017 has delayed the exam dates by almost a month which will adversely impact the commencement of the academic session 2017-18 for schools affiliated to UP's Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad.
Apart from this, the UP Board 12th Results 2017 will also be delayed due to the postponement of UP Board Exam Dates. The impact would be more severe for 26,24,681 students appearing for the UP Board Intermediate Exam, as they will miss the majority of application deadlines for admission to colleges / universities and professional institutes like IITs and others.
