UP School Reopening Detailed Guidelines Awaited
At the time of filing of this story, the UP Government has only notified that schools and colleges in the state will be allowed to reopen from 7th February 2022. The detailed guidelines for reopening of schools along with COVID-19 precautionary measures are to be announced later on. However, to ensure safe return of students back to campuses, the state government is expected to direct educational institutions to ensure all guidelines are followed. UPSA threat to Stop Online Classes
The decision to allow reopening of schools and colleges in the state from 7th February 2022 comes following ultimatum given by the Unaided Private School Association (UPSA). Earlier in the week, over 250 Educational Institutions under the UPSA umbrella threatened to stop online classes if physical lectures are not resumed. Furthermore, the UPSA also said that they will withdraw support during the Assembly election process if the government doesn’t order resumption of physical classes. USPA had given ultimatum of 6th February for stopping online classes. However, now with the state government ordering reopening of schools this has become a non-issue now.
