AICTE Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) - 2012

AICTE is conducting the first National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE. The last date for applying to this post has been extended till 22 January 2012

AICTE is conducting the first National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT)-2012 for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE for the year 2012-13. The initiative has been taken to address the issue of physical, mental, and financial burden being imposed on the students through a multitude of entrance examinations being followed by the institutions for admission into all Management Programmes in AICTE approved institutions and University Departments. The testing window for computer based test will be open for nine days and candidates will have option of selecting date and city for appearing in the test.

Important Dates

  • Opening date for online registration: 9 December 2011
  • Last Date for online registration: 22 January 2012
  • Date for downloading print out of hall ticket: 30 January 2012
  • Dates for computer based test: 20 February 2012 to 28 February 2012
    a) Test Timings: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
    b) Test Timings: 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm
  • Date for declaration of result: 11 March 2012
  • Date for downloading print out of score cards: 11 March 2012 to 11 April 2012
  • Date for giving trial/ mock test of the exam: 12 December 2011 onwards

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.

Selection Procedure: The recruitment will be made on the basis of merit in Written Test which will have four sections, each section having 25 questions. The total 100 questions are to be attempted over 180 minutes. There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.

Scores awarded in the test will be used for allotment of seat in the AICTE approved Institutes/ University Departments.

Registration Fee: Registration fee for General and OBC category candidate is Rs 1200+ bank charges as applicable and fee for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidate is Rs 600.

The fees can be paid in the form of Net Banking/ Credit/ Debit Card through http://aicte-cmat.in/ Candidates can also pay fee in the form of Cash through challan generated online and Cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India.
