All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), in an initiative to reduce financial, physical and mental stress on candidates, will conduct a Common Admission Management Test (CMAT) for the first time in 2012. The scores of this national level admission test will be used for admission to various management school approved by AICTE.
The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2012 will be conducted online from 20 February 2012 to 28 February 2012 in 61 cities for admission in the post graduate management programs both at Degree & Diploma level at national level for year 2012-13.
AICTE has already notified Secretaries of the state dealing with technical education and Vice chancellors of the universities to advise the competent authority for admissions in their respective States & jurisdiction to use the scores of CMAT-2012 for allotment of students in the AICTE approved management institutions. The competent authority will have to register online free of charge for adopting CMAT- 2012 scores. The minority institutions shall effect admissions as per the provision available for such categories.
