The British Council announced to launch the British Council IELTS Scholarship for Indians who are studying in the UK, the British Council has announced the single largest number of scholarships ever launched in a year in India, by offering around 370 scholarships worth almost 1 million pounds.
The British Council will select eight students from India, each of whom will receive an award of Rs.3,00,000 towards the cost of tuition fees.
Scholarships will be offered for 260 undergraduate and postgraduate courses ranging from Engineering, Law and Business to Art & Design, Biosciences and IT.
Scholarships will be tenable for September 2014 and January 2015 intakes.
The candidate must fulfill the following conditions before applying for the scholarship:
- The students must be a citizen of India.
- Attend a higher education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements.
- Have a valid IELTS score, with a minimum band score average 6.0.
- Have taken their most recent IELTS test with the British Council.
