5. Money and Banking

This is again a crucial part of Class 12 Economics which consists of a variety of questions and has a high tendency of appearing in CBSE Board Exams 2024. Previous year question papers and sample papers also have atleast one question from this segment in the board paper. MCQs, short-form questions are often asked from this part. Students should focus on topics such as money supply, Central Bank, and more topics. 

a) What is meant by money supply? Discuss in brief, the M1 constituents of money supply.

b) Explain the process of money creation by commercial bank, giving a numerical example

c) Explain the following functions of central bank: Banker's bank, Government bank, Supervisory bank, Bank of issue

6. Case-Based/Passage Based

CBSE has diverted its focus towards competency-based questions and hence case study questions are highly expected to be asked in the upcoming board exam 2024. This will come under the 6-mark segment and students will have to read the excerpt provided to you. The source of the passage is also mentioned in the question for your reference. Students have to read the passage or case-study and answer the questions asked based on it. Practise of such questions can help you all easily solve the question in the exam. This is another important and most expected question for CBSE Class 12 Economics board exam 2024, given the changes implemented by the board. The sample paper 2024 also has such questions in both parts Macro Economics and Indian Economic Development. Though there is a high chance of these questions being asked in the exam, there’s no surety on from which chapter it would be asked. Hence, students must prepare these topics nicely and cover them widely to ensure that they end up answering each question asked from the mentioned topics.

b) Explain the types of land reforms implemented in the agricultural sector.

c) What is Green Revolutions and write down its impact.

d) What is Demonetization and write down some salient features of one that took place in our country recently. 

Note: Students should also be aware of the current affairs on the economy of the country, major changes made in the recent past, any important scheme/policy launched by the government, and such topics. A question can be asked from the current affairs.
