Find CBSE Class 12 Physics Practice Paper (Set-III). This paper contains important questions from 3rd unit (Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism) of physics. These questions will not only help the students to prepare for exams in a better manner, but will also help them in understanding the depth with which a topic should be studied.
Few sample questions from the Question Paper are given below:
Q. An electron emitted by a heated cathode and accelerated through a potential difference of 2.0 kV, enters a region with uniform magnetic field of 0.15 T. Determine the trajectory of the electron if the field
(a) is transverse to its initial velocity,
(b) makes an angle of 30 with the initial velocity.
Q. An infinitely long straight wire of a circular cross-section of radius ‘a’ carries a steady current ‘I’. The current is uniformly distributed across the cross-section. Apply ampere's circuital law to calculate the magnetic field at a point 'r' in the region for
(i) r < a and,
(ii) r > a.
Q. Ram was going with his father to his grandfather's house. On his way, he saw that a crane was being used to move large containers from one place to another place. However, he observed that the crane doesn't have a hook. He discussed this feature of the crane with his father. His father told him that this is an electromagnetic crane and also explained the principle of the electromagnet.
(i) What values did Ram show?
(ii) What is the principle of the electromagnet and how it is different from a bar magnet?
Q. How will diamagnetic material, paramagnetic material and ferromagnetic material behave when kept in a non-uniform external magnetic field? Give one example of each of these materials.
