The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)’s counselling helpline for Class X and XII will begin its service from February 9. To avail this service, students will have to dial a toll free number: 1800 11 8004 from anywhere in India between 8am to 10pm. Online counselling will also be made available for the students, the details of which will be disclosed in the next week.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) launched this pre-examination counselling helpline last year with the vision of helping students get rid of all their exam related stress, worries or any other queries. Students can ask the questions pertaining to any subject that will be answered by the subject experts. The students will also be provided psychological counselling to deal with the examination pressure and ease their nerves. The counselors on the other side of the screen, includes a panel of trained professionals and teachers that have been stationed across the country to do the task.
According a CBSE official, "The first phase of counselling will start from February 9 where the students can share their worries and are shown ways to combat stress, thereby reducing the instances of suicide among the students"
Last year, this helping platform left many students disappointed as a number of students were unable to connect due to the lines being busy. Hope the situation doesn’t get worse this year and service comes with an improved quality of counselling to aid the anxious students.
