The Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI) is 4th oldest Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory under the CSIR, DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. It is dedicated to achieve scientific leadership in the area of advanced ceramics and specialty glasses (including fibre/fibre-based devices).
Major research activities of the Institute are funded by government agencies, strategic sectors & private industries and concerned with specialty glasses, specialized optical fibre, Sol-gel processing of glass and ceramics, nano-structured glass and ceramics, engineering ceramics (both oxides and non-oxides), ceramics for bio-medical applications, ceramic membranes, advanced refractories , ceramic sensor, oxide fuel cells & batteries, traditional ceramics (white ware and red clay pottery) etc.
The institute invited application from bonafide Indian citizens to fill 13 posts of Technician-1 [Group-II (1)] vacancies.

Pay Scale: Rs.5830.00 + Grade Pay of Rs.1900.00 in the Pay Band-1 (Rs.5200-20200)
The posts carry usual allowances: TA, DA, HRA as admissible to the Central Government employees.

Incomplete applications /applications received after the last date will not be accepted.
Selection Procedure: A Screening Committee would shortlist the candidates to be called for interview. The committee may also hold a screening and/or trade test, if required. In case, large no. of application are received, the Screening Committee may fix parameters for short-listing candidates. Short-listed candidates will be notified through our website preferably in the month of November, 2012 and by e-mail and post, if possible.
TA: The outstation candidates called for interview will be paid to and fro single Sleeper Class Rail fare/Ordinary Bus fare.
- The prescribed qualifications must be of the recognized Universities/Boards/Institutes.
- The period of experience in a discipline/area of work, where prescribed, shall be counted after the date of acquiring the minimum prescribed educational qualification prescribed for the posts.

- If any document/certificate furnished is in a language other than Hindi or English, a transcript of the same duly attested by a Gazetted Officer or notary is to be submitted.
