Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai invited applications for admission to Ph. D programs – 41 seats in 11 disciplines of Fisheries Science, through an All India Competitive Examination. Interested candidates should submit their applications at the Institute till 31 May 2014.

Fellowship: Rs.10500 per month (for selected candidates)
Rs.3000 per month (for in-service candidates from ICAR Institutes/ SAUs/ CAUs)
[NOTE: there is no provision for institutional fellowship for candidates selected from state fisheries department]

Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications: B.F.Sc & M.F.Sc OR B.Sc & M.Sc OR D.F.Sc with bachelor’s degree in Biological Science and two year experience in fisheries development work.
Minimum Age limit: 22 years (as on 31 July 2014)
[A candidate can apply for only one discipline. Separate admission test will be conducted for each discipline.]
Selection Procedure
Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the all India competitive exam, followed by an Interview for those qualifying the written exam.
The written exam will be held on 20 July 2014 and the Interview, for qualifying candidates, will be conducted on 21 July 2014.
Application Procedure
Interested and eligible candidates should send/ submit their duly filled in application forms along with fee DD (if required) to ‘The Office of the Senior Registrar, Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Panch Marg, Off. Yari Road, Mumbai- 400 061’ by post/ in person on or before 31 May 2014.
Information Bulletin cum application form can be obtained from the PG Section of the Institute by paying Rs.300 in cash OR by sending a crossed Demand draft of Rs.350 drawn in favour of ‘ICAR Unit, CIFE, Mumbai’, payable at SBI, Versova.
Information Bulletin cum application form can also be downloaded from the CIFE website www.cife.edu.in. Candidates using downloaded form will have to send a DD of Rs.300 drawn in favour of ‘ICAR Unit, CIFE, Mumbai’, payable at SBI, Versova, along with the application form.
