JEE Main Result 2014 (CBSE JEE Main Exam Results 2014) has been released on 2 May 2014. CBSE has declared the JEE Main 2014 Result this year on 2 May 2014. A total of 13.56 lakh students, including 3.16 lakh girls, registered for the JEE Main exam this year.

A total of 13.56 lakh students, including 3.16 lakh girls, registered for the JEE Main exam this year. JEE Main exam 2014 was held in two modes- (i) Paper-based  (ii) online. The paper based JEE Main 2014 was conducted on April 6 and was attempted by nearly 11.84 lakh candidates 2,173 centres. The online JEE Main 2014 exam was held between April 9 and April 19 and attempted by about 1.73 Lakh candidates.

From this year onward, no JEE Main score card will be mailed or sent to the candidates, they can download their JEE Main score/rank cards from the JEE Main website only. It should be noted that the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland and Odisha States will also be accepting JEE Main 2014 scores instead of their state level examination score.

The answer keys to the JEE Main 2014, earlier which were to be released on April 25, have been postponed to April 28. The OMR sheets of the candidates who appeared for the pen and paper based exam have been released and can be checked on the official website. These sheets will be available till April 28. The candidates can note down their answers for comparison with the answer keys later on.

JEE Main is a two tier Joint Entrance Examination, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in NITs and Centrally funded institutes as well as a number of leading private institutions. JEE Main also acts as the qualifying examination/eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Around 1.5 lakh top candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their JEE Main 2014 result to appear in JEE Advanced on 25 May, 2014 for for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by all 16 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad. The rank scored in JEE (Main) will be valid for a period of two years. This means that a candidate in the top 1.5 lakh list of JEE (Main) this year can appear for JEE (Advanced) either this year or next year. JEE (Advanced) is scheduled to be held on May 25 and the results will be declared on June 19. They also need to figure in top 20 percentile list in the 10+2 Board exams to be eligible for the final admission to the IITs. Eligible students will be given only five days to register for JEE (Advanced). The due date to register will end on May 9.
