Eligibility Criteria for Scientist & Other Posts

Educational/Technical Qualification & Experience 

• Scientist G (Bioprocess and Bio products): PhD in chemical sciences/engineering or biological sciences/engineering including food science and technology or food engineering, food and nutrition with minimum 16 years post doctoral R&D experience.
• Scientist F (Biotechnology/Metabolic Engineering/Biosynthetic Technology): PhD in biological sciences with 14 years’ post-doctoral R&D experience.
• Scientist F (Core Bio-organic Chemistry): PhD in Chemistry with specialization in organic chemistry with 14 years core R&D experience.
• Scientist E (Food Science & Technology/Food & Nutrition): Master in food science and technology or food engineering or food and nutrition & PhD in Food Science/Food Technology/Engineering or Food and Nutrition with 7 years’ post-doctoral R&D experience.
• Scientist E/Scientist D (Catalysis Chemistry): PhD in Chemistry with 8 years’ post-doctoral research experience.
• Scientist E/Scientist D (Nano-materials and Application Technology): Master degree in Physics or chemistry or nanotechnology & PhD in nanotechnology or chemistry or physics with thesis on nanotechnology followed by relevant post-doctoral R&D 8 year’s experience.
• Scientist D (Food Engineering): M. Tech/M.E. & PhD in Food Technology or Food Engineering with 5 years’ post-doctoral research experience.
• Research and Innovation - Associate Plant Manager/Plant Engineer (Mechanical cum Instrumentation/Plant Design Engineer): M.Tech/M.E & PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or Chemical Technology or Process Design Technology/Processing Plant Engineering/Bioprocess Technology with PhD dissertation related to mechanical aspects of process plant/machinery design or fabrication or improvement or improvisation in use or use optimization etc. with 7 years relevant R&D experience.
• Research and Development - Informatics Officer (Database and Research Analysis, Documentation, Research Reference, Document & Domain Knowledge Library, Application Programs): M. Tech or M.E. in computer science or information technology or bioinformatics with 4 years of R&D experience.

Age Limit for Scientist & Other Posts

• Maximum 55 years for Scientist G, Scientist F, Scientist E & Associate Plant Manager
• Maximum 50 years for Scientist D & Plant Manager
• Maximum 45 years for Informatics Officer
  

Selection Process for Scientist & Other Posts

Candidates will be short-listed by the Screening-cum-Short listing Committee on the basis of benchmark criteria of qualifications (including profile of ranks and/or percentage across academic stages), duration, nature and quality of experience etc. vis-à-vis the functional needs and responsibilities of the position and the nature of skill sets for appropriate R&D deliverables expected from the tasks associated with the position for the institutional mandate.
