Finally, CTET exam 2016 is over. Thousands of students have appeared in the CTET 2016 examination on February 21, 2016. Both papers were conducted successfully by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Feb. 21, 2016.

CTET February Result 2016:  After the examinations, all candidates are waiting for their result which will be released in few days as per the official announcement (probable dates of announcement of results are on or before April 6, 2016). So, keep your eye on updates at the official websites cbseresults.nic.in or ctet.nic.in. Candidates will have to follow following instructions to check outcome of exam easily:

•Visit the official website (cbseresults.nic.in or ctet.nic.in)

•Follow the link “Result of CTET – Feb.2016”.

•Enter required details such as Registration number or Roll number.

•Submit details.

•Your score card will be displayed on the screen.

•Now, take a print out of score card for your record.

•Final score card and CTET certificate will be dispatched later in May 2016.

•Note: If a candidate forgets registration number, it can be retrieved by entering the date of birth, mother’s name, father’s name etc.

Cut off marks: The cut off marks as determined by CBSE is 60%. The maximum marks for both the papers being 150; the cutoff marks for each paper will be 90.

The CTET Exam February 2016 conducted was as follows:

(a)Paper I (Primary Stage, passing this paper is the essential qualification to be teachers of Classes I to V): It was conducted during 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The overall level of this paper was moderate. There were 150 multiple choice questions and the maximum marks were 150 which was as expected. The English language was slightly tough. On the other hand, a lot of questions from environmental studies were quite easy. Overall, the level of this paper was moderate.

(b)Paper II (Elementary Stage, passing this paper is the essential qualification to be teachers of Classes VI to VIII): It was conducted during 9:30 am to 12 pm on Feb. 21, 2016. The overall level of this paper was moderate too. There were 150 multiple choice questions and the maximum marks were 150, which was as expected.

(Note: Candidates who intent to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both papers (Primary and elementary Stage).
The objective of conducting CTET examination was to bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process. It would also induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards.

Applicability of CTET: The applicability of CTET is as follows (as pointed out by NCTE):

•The CTET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for teaching jobs to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the Administrative Control of UT of Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and NCT of Delhi.

•CTET may also be applied to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.

•Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

•According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Law 53, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extant and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6th March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools CTET-SEPT 2015 Page 2 of 6 affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

Validity of CTET certificate:
•The period of validity of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment as teachers is seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.

•The number of attempts is not restricted. A person can take any number of attempts for acquiring a CTET Certificate.

•For improving his/her score, a person who has qualified CTET may also appear again.
