CUET UG Exam Pattern 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the notification for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024. The CUET UG is being introduced for admission into UG programmes in Central and participating Universities for the academic session 2024-25. For which NTA will tentatively conduct the examination from May 15, 2024, to May 31, 2024. In this article, we will discuss the exam pattern and other key points of CUET UG exam 2024. All prospective candidates of the CUET UG exam 2024 are advised to familiarise themselves with the CUET UG exam scheme.

The NTA conducts CUET UG 2024 exam for the students who wish to get admission into Postgraduate Programmes in Central and other participating Universities/Institutions. Check the complete CUET UG 2024 exam scheme here

Mode of CUET UG 2024 Exam

This year the CUET UG exam will be conducted in Hybrid mode which means the exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode. For the subjects with higher registration, the test will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets. This change will allow the candidates of the ruler area to take the exam closer to their home.

Medium of CUET UG 2024 Exam

The CUET UG exam will be conducted in 13 languages. The students need to choose the language for the Question Paper while filling up the online Application Form and it cannot be changed at a later stage. The state-wise medium of question papers is as follows

Total Subjects in CUET UG 2024 Exam

A total of 61 subjects were offered in the CUET UG 2024 exam. The breakup of these subjects is as follows

  • 33 Languages
  • 27 Domain-specific
  • 01 General Test

The students can choose maximum 06 Test papers which must have 04 or 05 domain subjects including General Test and 01 or 02 languages.

Marking Scheme in CUET UG 2024 Exam

For Multiple Choice Questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner:

  • Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
  • Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1)
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0)

CUET UG 2024 Exam Pattern 

The paper consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). All the important details about the CUET UG exam pattern are given in the table below.

  • 40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each Language and Subject
  • 50 questions to be attempted out of 60 in General Test

Maximum Marks

  • 200 in each Language and Subject
  • 250 in General Test

Time Allotted

  • 60 Minutes for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests
  • 45 Minutes for remaining papers

Medium of Paper

13 Languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)

Negative Marking

1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
