Delhi University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PHD Chamber and IamSMEofIndia (Integrated Association of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises of India) in order to provide micro, small and medium level enterprises with better IT infrastructure, under the project -- 'IT-MahaAbhiyaan', initiated by PHD Chamber.
The project is aimed at increasing capacities of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) by facilitating them with sturdy IT setup to be completed by an association of IamSMEofIndia and Cluster Innovation Center (CIC) of the Delhi University.
The focus on MSMEs instead of large scale industries is highly called for, said DU vice-chancellor, Dinesh Singh, on the occasion of signing MoU. Chief Guest Dinesh Singh also added that focus on few large industries leads to migration such as "social upheaval" which not always an advantage.
RajiveChawla, Directorof IamSMEofIndia, stated that the MoU is "a win-win situation" as it is going to help the MSMEs tohavehelp from technology and this would help them to be more productive. Besides, DU students would also become trained and "industry ready" for the market.
The IT support is deficient in the sector which hasdeveloped gaps. Hence, the networking is required to fill the gaps, said Chawla.
