Delhi University from now on, will hold ‘public durbars’ every Thursdays. The Vice Chancellor and his group will interact and hear out issues from students and teachers on the ‘durbar days’ .
This decision came as a breather for the whole fraternity after the much hyped Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) hunger strike news hit the headlines. Though the hunger strike is still on, this initiative by the Delhi University and the V.C comes of a great news for all.
Though the DUTA members remain to take a stand, this whole situation can actually provide to be an ice breaker of sorts for both the V.C and the DUTA members.
The venue for the ‘public durbar’ would be the ‘Gandhi Bhavan’ as it resonates peace and serenity. Though the real intention of the University remains hazy, this decision is a positive one, and can hopefully turn the grim situation to a lightly pleasant one.
