Candidates willing to appear for MAT September 2013 exam can choose any one of the two options to take the test:

In Computer Based Test, the candidate appears for the test using a computer system and submits the answers to the question asked using the keyboard or mouse. For computer based test, the computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer.
A candidate can appear for the Computer based September 2013 MAT test only on one date.
For Computer Based Test it is assumed that the candidate has basic familiarity with use of computers like use of keyboard and mouse operation.
The Computer Based Test is unlike the Paper Based Test, which is generally conducted on a single day. For traditional Paper Based Test, candidate is required to bring his / her Pen, HB-Pencils, Erasers and Sharper while the Question Paper & OMR Answer Sheet is provided at the Test Centre.
Till May 2009, MAT was only a Paper based Test, but from September 2009, MAT is being conducted in both the formats-Paper based and Computer based.
