Established as ‘Film Institute of India' in 1960 on the erstwhile Prabhat Studio premises at Pune, the Institute was renamed ‘The Film and Television Institute of India' in 1971. The FTII is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India and is a member of CILECT, an international association of film schools. It invites application from eligible Indian candidates for the following courses.

Application Fee: Application fee for General Category candidates is Rs 2150 and fee for SC/ ST/ and other economically backward candidates (Parents should be BPL card holders) is Rs 650.
The fees needs to be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn on any of the Nationalised Banks in favour of ‘Accounts Officer, Film and Television Institute of India,' payable at Pune.
