GLA University Admissions 2017: You first step towards a successful future

    Most of the state boards have released their results and the admission process at most universities has kick-started. The entire procedure is difficult enough for the students and becomes more tedious when the steps for the same are complicated or not explained well enough.

    Thankfully, Mathura's GLA University is an institution which stresses upon this clarity and has made the admission process easy for all aspiring students.

    Admission process:

    GLA admits students through an online entrance exam (with an exception to PhD courses) which can be given in one of the 60 centres throughout the country. The admission, though, is subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

    The two modes of admission are offline and online the steps for which are given below:

    Online Admissions: Register yourself for the online entrance test. An entrance fee of Rs.700/-(In case of D.Pharma, Diploma in engineering and B.Ed it is Rs. 500/-) will be charged during GLAET registration which can be paid through: Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking.

    Offline Admissions: Download the offline entrance registration from the website and take a printout and fill the required details completely. Send your duly filled registration form in an envelope along with the demand draft of Rs 700/- (In case of D.Pharma, Diploma in engineering and B.Ed it is Rs. 500/-) to the university (find details at http://gla.ac.in/study-with-us/admission-procedure). The candidates will be informed by university officials within 7 working days of receipt of the form.

    On successful registration candidate will receive unique registration id & password on registered e mail id. This Id and Password should be noted down by the candidate as it is required for the further examination procedure.

    Eligibility:

    Eligibility differs from one course to another and the aspiring candidates must visit the site for details. For most graduation courses, the requirement is 10+2, while for post graduation courses, it is graduation. Minimum marks in qualifying exam are different for gen/OBC and SC/ST candidates.

    Test centres:

    The university has GLAET centres in many cities of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujrat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Uttar Prdesh, Uttranchal and West Bengal.

    Institutes:

    All these institutes have a wide range of departments for students to choose from.

    Scholarship for 2017:

    Scholarship for meritorious students.

    • For B tech Students: A scholarship of worth Rs. 33,000/- per annum for the candidates possessing more than 90 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level as per eligibility requirement.
    • For B Pharm students: A scholarship worth Rs. 25,000/- per annum for the candidates possessing more than 90% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology at 10+2 as per eligibility requirement.

    The student has to maintain a minimum CPI of 8.25 to avail the scholarship for any of these two courses in the next year of his/her studies.

    • For M Tech students: Scholarship for GATE and GLAETqualified candidates is Rs.- 1,33,000 per annum, whereas scholarship for Non- GATE and GLAET qualified candidates is Rs.- 1,05,000 per annum.

    The student has to maintain a minimum CPI of 6.75 to avail the scholarship in the next year of his/her studies.

    • For M Pharm. Students: Scholarship for GPAT and GLAET qualified candidates is Rs.- 1,33,000 per annum whereas scholarship for Non-GPAT and GLAET qualified candidates is Rs.- 1,05,000 per annum.

    The student has to maintain a minimum CPI of 6.75 to avail the scholarship in the next year of his/her studies.

    • For M. Sc.  Students: Scholarship worth Rs. 24000/- , Rs. 18000/- & Rs. 12000/- per semester for top three candidates.
    • For Ph.D. Students: A teaching Assistant ship of Rs. 20,000/- per month will be given to selected research scholars from Engineering discipline only.

    Scholarship for general & OBC candidates (Economically weak).

    Those students whose parents annual income is less then Rs 1 lakh are eligible to avail scholarship through social welfare department (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag) of UP Govt.

    Scholarship for SC/ST Candidates

    Those students whose parents annual income is less then Rs 1 lakh are eligible to avail scholarship through social welfare department (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag) of UP Govt.

    Fee:

    Fee structure for various courses has been specified and can be easily found on university website.
