Jul 5, 2016 15:54 IST

Himachal Pradesh PSC has finally decided to change the existing examination pattern for the Himachal Administrative Services (HAS). The Commission has planned to adopt IAS pattern for conducting the HAS exam.

HAS Chairman K S Tomar said: “The Commission has also approved sample papers of the new syllabus, which were discussed with experts from the Himachal Pradesh University and Central University. A new micro-syllabus along with the sample papers have been uploaded on the website of the Commission.”

The Chairman further added that the preliminary examination will consist of two papers: General Studies and Aptitude Test (200 marks each). The Main examination will consist of English (100 marks), Hindi (100 marks), General Studies (200 marks), English Essay (100 marks), Paper 1 and 2 of Optional subjects (200 marks) and Interview (150 marks).

With the implementation of the new exam pattern in HAS, General Studies (600 marks) will determine the merit of a candidate more than the optional subject.
