Question:I am doing MBA. Want to CS alongside. Please tell us about the course and its usefulness?
Manjul Kumar, Faridabad
Answer: Pursuing MBA along with preparing for CS is probably not the right way as the active classes along with presentations, projects, corporate visits etc will leave very little time for you to prepare for CS. You might loose focus in this run and end up with no real good results on the either side. For best results, both professional courses demand hard work. Like CA, here also, you are not required to attend regular classes; instead you have to clear papers based on prescribed subjects at regular intervals. It is advisable that you first complete your MBA degree and then, if you still want to can continue with CS preparation. Pursuing both courses at the same time will demand lot of hard work, motivation, ability and willingness.
12th pass individuals can enrol for the foundation course of CS. There are a total of five papers. After this comes the intermediate course which has eight papers, and then comes final course that has nine papers.
The usefulness of CS can be gauged from the fact that it is mandatory to appoint a full time CS for all companies with assets of more 50 lakhs.
