As we know, CTET has two different papers for class 1 to 5 teacher and class 6 to 8 teacher. But Child Development and Pedagogy is the common subject in Paper 1 and Paper 2. So, both aspirants have to study same thing in Child Development and Pedagogy.
It is totally a theoretical subject. Overall the level of the questions was of moderate level. Roughly, Child Development and Pedagogy is divided into two parts:
1. 15 questions will be asked from Child Development
2. 15 questions from Pedagogy
The questions are distributed in following manner:
(i) 15 Questions from Child Development are distributed in a way that each subtopic gets a reasonable weightage.
In this section, students are required to study more about thinkers and their ideology. The questions are mainly based on the ideology and Principle of Thinkers.

(ii) Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs: 5 Questions
In this part, students need to study the special attributes made for the special children. Most questions are based on the behavior of the teacher while dealing with a case of the special child. And questions are also asked from the relationship between teacher and students.
(iii) Learning and Pedagogy: 10 Questions
Here, mainly the questions are put up from the pedagogy of child behavior.
Apart from this, students are supposed to be familiar with the topics which come under Child Development. The topics are given below:

Mock Tests and Revision
Now there comes a point from where practicing mock tests becomes very crucial. So students are advised to practice/attempt Child development & Pedagogy Mock tests.
There are many mock tests available online. Try to attempt them as much as possible. The more you solve them, the more confident you will get.
And, along with mock tests, revision of previous year question papers is also very important. It gives the experience of actual questions. So students should revise previous year question papers as many as they can do. That will give you an idea as to what to expect in the exam.
