Probationary Officer Common Written Examination contains a paper in English Language along with four other papers namely General Awareness, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Computer Knowledge. The total number of question in the written examinations remains 200 containing a total of 200 marks. In order to pass the written examinations the candidates need to score the cut off marks set by the exam conducting authority IBPS (Indian Banking Personnel Selection) based on the evaluation of the papers of the candidates. Every year lakhs of aspirants take this exam of which only a few thousand get in to bag a job of probationary officer.
English is one subject among the other papers which can be really scoring. Each question in the paper contains 1 mark and the total number of questions in the paper is 40. The candidates who have prepared themselves well for the test (Get Practice Paper for English Language) and have a good background of the knowledge might find this an easy nut to crack. The candidates need to be well versed with the basic grammar and comprehension part. The reading comprehension for IBPS PO examination remains a bit tough giving a passage from world economic articles. There are uses of tough words challenging the vocabulary of the candidates as well in the reading comprehension part. The candidates need to make sure they that their vocabulary is getting stronger day by day, so that they can perform when it matters at the examination.
The questions asked in this paper deals majorly with the basic English language and candidates who opt for the examinations must brush their tense, grammar and reading skills at the outset. There are questions dealing with reconstruction of sentences that needs a clear knowledge of sentence formation and active and passive sentences. The candidates who are emanated with exceptional vocabulary skills find it rather easy to crack the examination.
