IBPS has introduced descriptive paper in the IBPS PO / MT Mains exam from this year onwards. In the mains exam, there will be a one question of Essay writing.

Here we are giving some tips to write a perfect essay in the exam.

Choose the topic carefully: Candidates will be given two or more options for the essay writing topic. First, evaluate all the topics. Choose the topic on which you can write easily. You are supposed to write your own opinion and this requires a proper knowledge of that particular topic.

Prepare an outline diagram: Now prepare an outline diagram for the chosen topic. You should think that what kind of content you want to produce. Jot down the points which strike in your mind immediately and draw a raw structure regarding what you are going to write.

An introduction is important: Introduction provides the first impression and helps you to develop a reader’s interest. It tells the reader the important points of your content piece. Include your main idea in the introduction.

Write a Body:  Body is the main part of the essay. It describes your topic. Mention important information and facts in the body paragraph. You can give the facts even against your opinion. Write your own opinion with supporting arguments. Try to include some specific evidence to prove your point. You can also include other people’s opinion. Always give some examples.

Maintain the flow: There should be a logical connection in your content piece. Create flow in your writing. Try to make connections across sentences and paragraphs. Do not jump from one point to another without linking it.

Don’t forget to give conclusion: Conclusion is an integral part of the essay. Summarize all your ideas briefly. It should provide a good overview of the essay.

Add on some finishing touch: Always review, what you have written. Reread your essay and make sure that there are unity and cohesion in the content piece. Finally, check if there is any grammar and spelling mistakes.
