IBPS RRBs Examination 2014: Tips & Strategies

    The common written examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) for RRBs, is scheduled tentatively in September 2014. Before the examination, the aspiring candidates are all geared up for their part of preparations. The examination would be conducted online by IBPS for recruiting Officers and Office Assistants. While the dates for online application have long been over, the candidates are now in their final stages of preparation. The candidates need to know the examination pattern well, so that they don’t fumble while going for the examination.

    Examination Pattern

    With the introduction of online examination in almost every banking examination, it has resulted in a considerable amount of confusion among many of the candidates going for the examination. The examination conducted by IBPS for Officers Scale I and Office Assistants would also be an online one, where the candidates would be given a specific user id and password to sit for the examination after they enter the examination center set across various parts around the country.

    Tips for the Examination

    The candidates who have already applied for the examinations are required to give special emphasis on their weaker areas. They should give proper preparation time to each of the subjects. There are few tips that can help them prepare well in the subjects of the examination.

    • Reasoning: To check the candidate’s logical ability and reasoning capability this paper needs a careful preparation beforehand. The paper turns out to be little tricky at times consuming lot of time while giving the examination. It is required to go for mock test papers and online solved papers to understand the pattern of the paper and get an idea on how to solve them effectively. Expert advice can be beneficial to crack tough reasoning problems as well. The main aim of this paper is to evaluate the mental strength and decision making ability of the candidate.
    • Numerical Ability: To solve the numerical problems it takes quite a lot of time. Many of the examinees fail to understand that it is the paper which takes the most of your examination time and needs a special treatment. The paper consists of numerical problems that carry multiple options to further confuse the candidate. You need to practice the paper everyday and should schedule your preparation hours in such a way that you give proper time to handle this paper. This paper needs certain tricks and methods to solve problems in lesser time.     • General Awareness: To check the awareness level of the candidates this test is conducted, carrying 40 different questions related to various fields and genres. The candidates need to focus on all the current events and happenings which have national or international importance.     • Computer Knowledge: The paper is quite crucial as you need to be aware of the basics of the computer and also understand the various terms and references which you might not be aware of. You can also undergo certain certificate courses in computer conducted by various institutes to prepare the candidates in computer knowledge. This would also help you become confident while giving your online examination in front of a physical computer.
